Stobsmill History

Originally built in the late 1800s... we've been around for a while! The name ‘Brunton’s’ came from a former owner dating back to the early 20th Century.

We're on the Gorebridge Heritage Trail, take a stop at us to find out about the ‘Riot' and Murder that took place back in the 1800s.

The pub is a Listed Building - including the railings! It looks like a wee hoose, with a signature, red ‘T' outside. The original 35ml measures are still sold here, so beware nips are larger than elsewhere!

New Ownership

In February 2018 we, the White family, bought the pub from the Yuill family, who retired after 40 years of ownership.

We've carried out some renovations and redecoration to the premises to create a beer garden (a sun trap!), a relaxed lounge area that's available for hire, an adult bar area, and our new restaurant called Brunton's.

Since the 1940's the nickname ‘Brunton's' has been used by the locals instead of the official ‘Stobsmill Inn'. So, when we created our new restaurant, there was no name more fitting! We've brought back a bit of history and put an official stamp on the name.

We hope you like the outcome of the changes we've made.

A warm welcome awaits!
